Defeating eight different super-robots allows Mega Man to acquire their unique weapons, which are used to navigate specialized stages and counter specific enemies. Players must conquer these individual robot empires to unlock a direct confrontation with Dr. Wily, using newly gained abilities to overcome the mastermind's final defenses.
